Earl Shilton Building Society
This is a mutual building society established in 1856 that continues to offer good value mortgage rates to enable customers to buy their own home. The head office is still based in Earl Shilton, Leicester but another branch is based in Barwell, Leicester. Current assets are in the region of £90million.
The Society currently offers discounted, tracker and buy to let mortgages and all products can be transferred to another property if you move within the discount or offer period. You can apply for a mortgage on properties in England and Wales if you are a first time buyer, moving home or re-mortgaging to raise funds for home improvements or another large purchase.
A discounted mortgage will give you a reduction from the Standard Variable Rate for an agreed period of time. A tracker mortgage will follow the Bank of England Base rate at an agreed percentage.
You may also pay up to 20% of the loan capital each year without being liable for any penalty charges.

First Time Buyer mortgages: You can select a mortgage that will suit your circumstances.
Discount mortgages: these are available for between 2 and 5 years, the discount that you receive will depend upon the amount of deposit you can provide and the length of the agreed discount period.
