The Hinckley and Rugby Building Society
The Hinkley Permanent Building Society was founded in 1865 and the Rugby Provident Building Society was founded in 1861, they both merged in 1983 and now have over 70,000 savers, 10,000 borrowers, 11 branches plus 4 agencies and assets of over £600 million. The Society is committed to remaining a mutual organisation and uses its profits to provide its members with good value products and customer service. Based in the town of Hinckley, Leicestershire it also serves many East Midlands small villages and communities.

Some fees may be payable upon application and approval of your mortgage although certain products are offered with special deals that enable you to qualify for a free valuation, booking and arrangement fees. Flexible mortgages are available that allow you to make overpayments and take a mortgage holiday and a flexible offset mortgage will allow you to use any savings you may have to reduce your monthly mortgage payments and possibly help you to pay off your mortgage earlier. Buy to let mortgages are available with a two year discount or with the Society's Basic Variable Rate and you may borrow up to 65% of the property's value.
Early repayment charges may be payable on some products so check with your advisor about this.
Applicants need to be at least 18 years of age.
Hinckley and Rugby Mortgage Products
Discount mortgages: These products will give you a guaranteed discount on the Society's Standard Variable rate for the term of the loan. You may be able to combine this with a flexible mortgage so that no early repayment charges will be due if you pay off all or part of your mortgage balance before the end of this period.
Tracker mortgages: These mortgages will automatically track the Bank of England base rate so that your monthly payments may fluctuate in line with any changes.
Buy to Let mortgages: Customers who are new to property investment are welcomed by the Society and experienced investors can also apply for specialist buy to let mortgage products.
