Hodge Lifetime

A Hodge Lifetime mortgage is secured against the title deeds of your home and can enable some home owners to use the equity available in their property to improve their standard of living, pay for home improvements or to splash out on a special purchase. A legal charge is secured on your home and you are able to live there without having to make any interest payments throughout your lifetime. Loan interest is 'rolled up' and added to the loan, upon your death the property will be sold, the loan will be repaid to the company and any remaining sums will be part of your inheritance.

Your property must have a minimum value of £100,000 and the minimum loan amount is £15,000. The product is available to customers who own their own home in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Leasehold properties will be considered if there are at least 75 years left to run on the lease. Certain properties such as prefabricated buildings and mobile homes may not be approved for this product, please consult your mortgage advisor.

There will be some fees payable if you apply for or accept this type of loan. At a later date you can borrow more money if you have sufficient equity in your property and meet the applicable lending criteria at the time.
