Northern Rock Bank

Originally a building society the Northern Rock demutualised in the late 1990's and following various problems during the credit crisis in 2007/08 has now become state owned. Share prices continue to fluctuate but the bank appears to have a strong business plan to help it emerge from the current crisis. The bank offers a range of savings, loans, mortgages and insurance products to customers across the UK.

There are a wide range of mortgage products available including fixed and variable rate. The amount of deposit you can provide and the mortgage term that you agree will affect the interest rate that you pay, talk to your mortgage advisor to make a decision about the best deal for you. First time buyers can choose from the whole range of mortgage products and may be eligible for free valuations or no arrangement fee deals.

Buy to Let mortgages are available to applicants over the age of 21 and you may be able to borrow up to £1million. You will need to show that the monthly income will be over 120% of your mortgage payment amount.

Most mortgage products will incur an early repayment charge if you pay off all or part of the loan amount during the offer period.

 

Northern Rock Mortgage Products

First Time Buyer mortgages: A wide range of mortgage products are available including both fixed and variable rates. You may be able to borrow up to 85% of the value of your home.

Owner Occupier Mortgages: New and existing customers can apply for a range of mortgage products that include tracker and fixed rates.

Buy to Let mortgages: You can borrow up to 70% of the property value to a maximum of £1million. Early Repayment Charges will apply if you pay off all or part of the loan during the offer period.
